In common with most of the UK, Stratford-Upon-Avon has a temperate climate with relatively small variations in temperature, and rain can be expected at any time of the year. In Shakespeare's words: "For the rain it raineth every day". (Taming of the Shrew: Act V, Scene I) Being in the centre of England, Stratford is significantly warmer than the coastal areas, with daytime summer temperatures on average around 20°C, and sometimes above 30°C. Winter temperatures are usually mild, and generally above freezing during the day. |
